I’ve heard that it’s possible to install a kind of shared fax service to

a Windows Server having a 56k modem so that everyone in the domain can fax

documents, just like printing documents to shared printers. So I’d like to

know more about it for my company's domain and hope someone might give me the

answers to my questions. And I hope this is the correct forum since I don't

see any other forum for fax.

* Is this fax service one of the standard components in some Windows Server

system? If yes, which one? Windows Server 2003 or 2008?

* My company's domain is currently under AD 2000. But it will migrate to AD

2008 soon. Is it necessary to install the fax service fax in the domain

controller? I asked so because it seems that there's such a fax service for

"Small Business Server 2003". We aren't going to use SBS 2008, so I hope we

could install it elsewhere.

* This fax service could work with any 56K modem? Or is there any

recommended hardware/modem?

Thanks in advance
