Expand vertical size of Start window?

Is there any way to expand the vertical size/appearance of the window/box

that appears when you click on the start button?

It seems set to about half of my monitor's pixel depth (my monitor is 1600 x

1200, so the start box looks to be around 600 pixels tall).
