I installed the MS updates that came out on 6/11, they all installed

successfully. Since then, I've got a couple of messages upon waking up the

computer about devices that would work faster on USB 2.0, which I have in my

computer (an XPS420). Today when I ran my backup to an external hard drive

(connected on USB), instead of running in about 25 minutes, it was only

about 25% done after 30 minutes. I could see also that the CPU usage was

only about 5% instead of the usual 25-30%. It looked like it was running on

USB 1.1. I ran a system restore to back out the updates, and everything is

back to normal. The complete backup ran in 28 minutes and the CPU usage was

up to 25-30%. Has anyone else experience this problem? I looked through the

descriptions of the updates and could see no mention of anything that would

affect the USB. I guess I'll start adding back the updates one at a time and

see what happens.
