Posted June 6, 200816 yr Hi there, It has been awhile but I have had this symptom this week on my 2000 server, I also have a McAfee Firewall. After editing the firewall settings I noticed a block on my programs list for the MsTask servicee. After removing this block of this program I was successful in re-starting the service. I know it has been awhile but I hope you get this message, I often find that most people would have re-formated their hard disk and reloaded their O/S. Thanks for your post. D.
