Manually removing a network adapter entry from the registry

I've recently converted a physical windows 2003 box to a VM using

VMware's ESX converter utility. So far, all is functioning the same

on the Virtual server.

The warning I experience is after I configure the IP address on the

virtual NIC within the VM (matching that of the old physical server),

a warning dialog box pops up stating that

"There is another network card with the same address that is NO LONGER

attached to the system.... there may be problems if both adapters

become active."

After clicking ok, all is functioning well and I have network

connectivity. I would like to remove the old hardware NIC reference

from the registry to avoid this message if possible, before going into

our production environment.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance,

Bryon
