I would have to register a slight disagreement with that since for the

time being at least I am an MVP but since I got the award (Sadly) my

work has reduced the amount of time I can spend doing anything much on

here to about zero.

 

I want to see both MS and Vista succeed, but it now has to offer genuine

competition and reliability. MS has the resources to innovate and the US

needs innovators, enough has been lost already to other countries, but

at this time Vista is almost as problematic as anything else you can

think of.

 

From an IT manager's point of view the security is not much better than

XP (Which of course they have experience with) and we just had a gal

post with reportedly 90 instances of malware so would it be better to

make workstations either "Thin Client" or Linux / Solaris etc. I just

was playing with our company server and the gnome terminal, works fine

for everything asked of it.

 

When you add up costs Linux is getting closer and closer to being viable

- terminal services users can't tell the difference - so Vista is no

longer the forced upgrade path that XP was.

I agree and it's sad and we can't expect every business to have the same

ethical standards. We have a higher one only because we have determined not

to be a top player (in our own field) and don't have a "vision" for everyone

to have our products.

IMHO, computers are still too technical to use when compared with other

consumer electronic products.

 

It probably will never reach to its vision or dream with mindsets that could

easily be found in here, needless to say, that is common and popluar in the

real life.
