kameleon Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Hi everybody, I'm the user of the Windows 7 64bit and the latest release of VirtualBox. I've prepared new virtual machine for Windows 2008 Server (32 bit). I've used over 900 Mb of Ram and static hard drive with 20 Gb capacity (minimum requirements: 512 MB Ram, 10 GB). The installation mode starts properly but after typing the key, Windows gives me a message: "Windows installation has encountered an error and needs to be restarted". After rebooting the machine the same problem. I think that I have proper key. It is original version from MSDNA - i'm a student of the university which is a Microsoft partner. Also, I consider that it is not a problem with VirtualBox software (the same problem in MS Virtual PC). Please, help. Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted March 21, 2010 FPCH Admin Posted March 21, 2010 It could be the amount of RAM. Windows 2008 has a minimum of 1 gig I think. Try adding more ram to the vm. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
kameleon Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 Nope, as I said it is 512 MB RAM. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/cc196364.aspx For Win 2008 32bit version, my configuration: 1,2 GHz, 940 MB RAM, 20 GB hard drive. Server Core version has even less requirements but I can't reach choosing installation type step even. Quote
