Server 2000 and Deleting Clients

I cannot add a new computer to our domain as I get the message the domain has

exceeded the max # of computers. Now, several older computers listed no

longer exist. However, I'm unsure if we have totally eliminated them. Is

there any program I can run to get the last time these computers logged in.

If I delete an active computer by mistake, it causes lots of problems. I

hope windows 2003 does a better job of managing it's computers.
