Frank, wonder what happened to him, LOL. Ubuntu's pan's kill file works

good. Available for MS-Windows too I understand.

True to an extent. All business must make money. But if you also take

care of your customers and don't shaft them with a choice like Vista,

Vista or Vista, MS might get more repeat customers. Right now Vista is

doing a lot of brand/image harm to MS. And it is going to continue until

they fix it one way or another.

Shareholders should be too happy either. Lower earnings, Vista not

selling, double dipping for XP repurchases slowing down. Earnings off.

Apple share up, and new Ubuntu/Fedora releases. MSFT down today big time.

And you know whatever they call the next version of MS-Windows is, it

will not have Vista in it. Say they did fix Vista and called it Vista II

the stigma...

Everyone got over Windows Me when XP came out so If MS makes a decent OS

that doesn't constantly require you to prove you're not a pirate, it may

sell and make up for it. If they stubbornly act like Frank the Wank and

keep LYING that Vista is a decent OS, you're right, their product image

will suffer and more people will stick with XP, buy a Mac or install Linux.

You almost had it right. More people will stick with XP or buy a Mac. Most

people know better than to mess with Linux.

I am a Microsoft shareholder since early 2001. During that time the

stock has traded in a narrow range between $20.40 and a $37.40 or so.

In spite of it having huge cash reserves and having good earnings it

pays a puny .11 per quarter dividend or less than 2% return.

Contrast that with Apple for the same period starting at about $6.50

to recently just passing $200.

Today Microsoft is big, bloated and adrift and with goofy Steve as CEO

rudderless and without vision. Like the Titanic it is slowly sinking.

Ah, who cares about the Frank, kill filed him yesterday. Never adds

anything to the conversation.

I hear Dell is now getting real about Ubuntu and going to include XP CDs

on certain models. Finally, more of a choice. For this dude, Linux.

Already installed. This Ubuntu 8.04 makes a nice desktop. Had to learn

a few things, but went smoother than Vista. Sure runs much faster on the

same hardware. Sticky windows and wobbly Windows, they seem to be a nice

touch.

MSFT flat lined today, down 6.6% with a big sell off. I would say right

about now Ballmer and the marketing boys are into damage control. Serves

them right for dumping a alpha/beta release of Vista on us.

Unless they change their WeSayso strategy pretty quick, give you $15-20

share by Christmas 2008.

Sorry to bring the news, MSFT is down 6.6% for the day on poor Vista

sales, fewer are buying into MS-Office. Business users holding back.

Sure gives the feeling MSFT topped out last year some time.

2 year view, AAPL and MSFT

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?t=2y&s=AAPL&l=on&z=m&q=l&c=msft

I think between Apple on the high end and Linux on the low end, the MS

whale is about to get chopped up. One little itty bitty peace at a time.

If you don't like him because of that you should look up the video of

him hawking Win1.0 on TV. He comes across like a cheap used car salesman

on late night TV. Not someone I am inclined to want to buy products from

at all. IMO, he is bad for Microsoft's image and they should get rid of him.

Agree 100%. On the other hand Bill Gates gets a pass since he's seen

as a geek looking a little like Alfred Newman of comic book fame. So

if he looks at little clumsy and uncomfortable on stage nobody cares.

http://www.eui.eu/Personal/Researchers/malamud/Alfred%20E.%20Neuman%20milk.jpg

The problem with Ballmer is he projects no class. CEO's of Fortune 500

companies don't run around on a stage until out of breath, their face

beet red from making as ass of himself. Showing excitement for a

product and loyalty to the company is one thing, but acting like a

damn fool is something else.
