There is no need to "try to become an adult", since everyone with a

high-enough IQ should already have become one.

Additionally, we "become adults", if those we communicate with also

"become adults" themselves.

Adult-hood starts with ME, not with YOU.

"Children" will automatically follow their elders down the road to

maturity.

By the way, I've met MANY "adults" who do not possess the requisite

"maturity".

So, don't "try" to become an adult: BE the adult you already ARE.

>It is also obviously that this newsgroup is infested with assorted

While it is not a good idea to call anyone a fool, I will have to

agree about Frank.

But I've been a fool more times than I can remember, so I really can't

throw stones.

But I've also seen a few "Pros" make foolish statements, so none of us

can really claim to be "wise".

>Again, you can quickly determine how various regulars post and if you

>could be a resource for real help they're dreaming.

Just remember:

EVERYONE is entitled to his OWN OPINION. If his opinion doesn't fit

your question, keep asking till someone comes up with one which does.

Also remember:

There are MANY ways to accomplish the SAME THING, and one way works

just as well as any of the others.

Each of us must make the decision whether someone's advice is good or

bad for ourselves. And we certainly don't need anyone's help to make

that decision for ourselves.

Microsoft certainly provides such "professional support". However,

they charge a minimum of $35/incident for this support.

Why should they give their support for nothing? After all, everyone

has to make a living.

Lets get real. Microsoft has a long history of breaking rules.

Actually LAWS. Ask the Justice Dept of the United States then also ask

the EU who both sought to punish Microsoft for questionable business

practices.

May 1988: Justice Dept., 20 states and D.C. slap software giant with

wide ranging antitrust suit.

March 24, 2008 Brussels: The European Commission has concluded, after

a five-year investigation, that Microsoft Corporation broke European

Union competition law by leveraging its near monopoly in the market

for PC operating systems.

One thing that remains constant in this newsgroup is many blindly

ignore things Microsoft does that hurts the average user. Some

desperately try to block posts that are critical of Microsoft, even

when it is as plain as the nose on your face that Vista is fatally

flawed. If Microsoft wants to have "rules" in it's newsgroups, maybe

they first should stop breaking laws.

That's funny. Customers should pay $35 per incident for fixing what

Microsoft knows is a broken product.

Microsoft has granted, in a roundabout way, that Vista has 'high

impact issues.' It has put out an email call for technical users to

participate in testing Service Pack 1, due out later this year, which

will address 'regressions from Windows Vista and Windows XP, security,

deployment blockers and other high impact issues.

Adam!!! Where HAVE you BEEN???

Service Pack 1 has been out for time, now. And not just as a "beta",

or even as a "Release Candidate." Service Pack 1 was released to

manufacturing a few weeks ago, and has been on Windows Downloads and

Windows Update for almost two weeks, now.

On to more important issues:

The ONLY issues it appears to me that Vista has have to do with

hardware for which the manufacturers hurriedly released drivers for

Vista a week after it was released (or no Vista drivers at all), not

the quality of Vista itself.

Perhaps folks should take Microsoft's advice before attempting to

upgrade to or install Vista, and make sure their machines are going to

be usable with Vista.

Think about it: If you had troubles installing and running XP on your

current hardware, you DEFINITELY will have troubles trying to install

and use Vista on the same hardware.

People like you are ALWAYS of the mindset that if Microsoft's OS does

not work with their devices and software, Microsoft MUST make its OS

compatible with THEIR devices and software!

To which I respond, "WHY? WHY MUST Microsoft make its OS compatible

with their software and devices?" Why don't the manufacturers of

their OWN devices and software make them compatible with Microsoft's

latest OS instead? And WHY didn't you download updated drivers for

Vista, if they were available?

It's not about "you", friend: It's about "us."

As the old saw goes, "It takes two to tango."

Microsoft can't help you if you won't help yourselves.

Standing there shouting "Our devices won't work! Our software won't

work! And it's all Microsoft's fault!!!" over and over will NEVER

get them fixed.

IF they won't work with Vista, and the manufacturer won't support

their own products, there are only two or three reasonable solutions:

Either use an OS which WILL work with your devices, or GET RID of the

ones which won't work, and replace them with devices and software

which WILL.

Of course, you always have the option of using another OS. Have fun,

if that is your decision. But leave us alone, please.

Stop complaining! It only wastes your time and bandwidth. DO

SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE about your problems, folks, instead of sitting

there shaking your fingers at Microsoft.

You mean like building a new machine from the ground up and seeing

"Vista certified" on the motherboard box and vendor's web site? Well,

that's the path I took and I still had/have endless headaches with

Vista none of which were my fault.

>Think about it: If you had troubles installing and running XP on your

>current hardware, you DEFINITELY will have troubles trying to install

You shouldn't jump to conclusions Don. I never had any issues with XP

when I install it years ago. None, nada on all my prior boxes.

As far as installing Vista, I was a good little boy and did all

Microsoft asked including running their moronic Vista upgrade advisor

which said everything was fine on a old box until of course I actually

started to install Vista on it then it started to nag and promptly

crashed during the install of Vista on my first try.

Microsoft has a HUGE creditability problem. They keep lying their ass

off things are "fine" when they're not.

>People like you are ALWAYS of the mindset that if Microsoft's OS does

>not work with their devices and software, Microsoft MUST make its OS

>compatible with THEIR devices and software!

All I ask of Microsoft is stopping selling consumers a line of

bullshit. I'm like millions of other pissed-off consumers that bought

the crap it was safe to upgrade to Vista. I bought only "vista

certified" components and in spite of it Microsoft dropped the ball

failing to work on components Microsoft says was "certified" for

Vista.

My issues deal mostly with INTERNAL Vista failings. You know... like

file handling and the hugely stupid and unnecessary UAC. What

unabashed Microsoft fans fail to understand and paint over is Vista

out of box even with SP1, long before you install ANY third party

software or any fancy hardware has all kinds of issues for SOME users.

My advice GROW UP and realize real people some with extensive

experience like me have REAL problems and the path why leads directly

to Microsoft's doorstep. Of course Microsoft fans never understand

that. This is the place to complain. You obviously prefer to firmly

hold your hands over your eyes pretending there's nothing wrong with

Vista at all. Pathetic.

Yep, if people want to live in a glass bubble, it's up to them to build

it.

Some people don't like Free Speech, but that isn't anybody else's

problem, but their own.

Yeshua ben Yosef was supposed to have said, "And if thine eye offend

blind Christians, since they seem to be the ones most offended by the

words of others?

Not all "microsoft.public..." groups are as messed up as this one. I have

even got good advice from some of them. This group appears to be big and

unruly because of the amount of controversy associated with Vista. People

appear to love it or hate it. Those who love it clearly belong in some kind

of supervised care with a Nurse Ratched feeding them daily doses of

anti-psychotic medication. Those who hate it could benefit more from an

anti-anxiety drug like Xanax.

IF I could accurately know who you are, and accurately know your past

conduct, I could easily decide on and effect a rule to 'moderate' you. Here

we do not, and will never know those things.

If for some reason I made a rule to 'delete on server' all posts by

'x@invalid.li' and you knew I had done it, you would be here tomorrow under

the ID of 'x.invalid.li2', berating me for trying to censor you.

Anonymity is the scourge of the internet. "Without identity, there is no

money" Money has a picture on it for a reason.

Anonymity is the scourge of conformity and control.

Freedom doesn't need to know anybody's name.

Authoritarianism needs to know everybody's name.

You're really into drugs aren't you? Is that the root cause for your

lying, spamming, trolling and bigoted ways?

Not at all, although I was speaking about your meds, not recreational drugs.

I don't lie, spam, troll and I'm not a bigot. Those are figments of your

twisted and lame imagination in a pathetic attempt to cover up your faults.
