No preview panel for certain pictures

I have been given pictures on a cd and can get a preview panel when using the

cd. However when I copied them to my computer I can only get a thumbnail and

no preview panel. I can however preview other images in my pictures it is

just these particular pictures. I recently had a problem with getting a

message that windows could not find a file before that window actually opened

and edited the DDE setting of certain files which fixed this problem. I am

not sure if they are at all related but I can only think of that recent

change. Thanks for any help.
