system cannot log on domain not available

I have reformatted my c: drive and re-installed Windows XP Home. After the

installation was finished, I tried to log on for the first time, but got this

error message " you cannot log on for the domain NAME is not available" - or

words to that effect, my system in not in English.

Googling on the subject took me to a microsoft TechNote that talked about

changing the security policy. Only, I cannot change anything, for I cannot log

on, can't get in at all.

Note: the owner of the computer used to be called OLDNAME. I now used NAME. I

did not think changing the name would matter, as I reformatted the hd.

Can someone help me to get into the system? Thanks.
