Substitute 'Microsoft fanboy' and you're describing yourself Frank.

It's free, and for the average user it can do everything that

they already do in Windows.

While that may be true in many circumstances, it is not so in

this case. Many people put lots of effort, talent, and testing into

Linux and FreeBSD. Their sweat equity has paid the price for

all those that want to use it.

Do you not understand how Microsoft really came to conquer the

mass consumer desktop and what they've done to keep that?

Now, you have a mass consumer base that only knows Windows and

most have no idea what Linux is... not a clue. They want what is

familiar. It takes time for people to come around. Similar to the

arguments about why many folks are complaining about Vista.

But, I guarantee you this- if you took all Windows out of stores,

and computers came preinstalled with Linux- people would get

used to Linux.... and for most users, Linux can do exactly the same

thing they are already doing in Windows.

Not virus or malware prone is another. Not having to call India is

another. Beryl makes Aero look like an amateur programmed it. Less

hardware reqs. is another. Everything gets updated at once is another.

No need to be up on if there's a new Java, Flash, etc. MUCH easier to

install than XP or Vista.

Most people have to pay for Vista so the fact that your BOSS paid for

your copy has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Yes, that's right. Wave your hands and say "no no no look over here.

If Linux was great and "free", it would be taking the world by storm.

Unfortunately it's only "free".

The other day I was IMing with a lady in England. She didn't even know

what Windows is, much less Linux. She, for some reason, thought that

windows was a pane you look through made of glass. MOST people don't

know what Linux is. I am being thoughtful and letting as many people as

I can know about it.

Like I said, you don't have Vista installed. "Playing" with Vista in a

store is nothing, repeat nothing like installing Vista on your own

machine and using it in a productive manner with the other software you

need and like.

And we all know that "stores" don't permit connecting to the Internet,

nor do they have any real productive software pre-installed.

You're not making any kind of a valid point...your argument...what

little there ever was.. has fallen completely apart.

You sound the complete fool, but if you prefer to keep making a fool out

The store where I played with it most certainly had it connected to the

Couple of hours? Sorry pal...I've used linux over the years a whole lot

longer than you've ever used Vista. I've had some Red Hat & Suse distros

installed for months.

The store where I played with it most certainly had it connected to the

Internet.

Really? Hummm...what's the phone number of the store where you surfed

the net on a store's demo computer?

My friends in spain say that's not true, the stores never connect a demo

computer to the net.

We'll call them up and check it out, ok?

Well...the number?

hahaha...oh does that attack your little macho spanish image &

ego?...lol...hahaha...you're really just a sawed off little runt of a

boy aren't you.

Big ego and nothing else.

First of all, everyone knows that everyone pays for sex in one way or

another. That doesn't mean money exchanges hands for sex...I guess that

went right over your little stupid head.

hahaha...LMAO!!!

Sticks and stones may hurt my bones, but words will never hurt me.

Lookit, If I get sick enough to get put in the hospital, I would rather

die than owe the hospital lots of money. That's my decision and I am

going to keep it that way.
