visionpcs Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 In previous versions of windows, moving a folder (with many subfolders/files) to a different path on the same drive would simply update the location of the folder in the file table and not require any action or calculation on what was actually in the folder. When I perform this on windows server 2008, it first calculates the size of everything in the folder, then performs the move and this can take quite a long time for folders with lots of content. Does anyone know if this is expected behavior and/or if there is a fix? Quote
