ActiveSync 4.0 and 4.5

I just got a BlackJack, installed the disk with ActiveSync 4.0. When I first

tried, it wouldn't connect, my phone reconized the conn., but pc didn't. I

tried unplugging and plugging back in a couple of times. It took, but when pc

went to retrieve setting from phone, pc just rebooted. I upgraded to 4.5,

same exact thing happened. Can anyone tell me what is wrong, or at least

send me in the right direction??
