graphicsxp Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Hi, I have installed windows server 2008 (web edition) + service pack 2 on my PC, to replace windows XP in order to be able to use IIS 7. Since then, I have a high CPU usage for almost all applications, particularly web browsers (especially with Flash apps running), Visual Studio, and Photoshop. My PC has an Athlon XP 3000+, 3 Gb RAM. It's not a recent computer but these applications mentionned above were working flawlessly under windows XP. Is there something I can do ? Thanks Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted November 11, 2009 FPCH Admin Posted November 11, 2009 Shutoff all the services you don't need. Check task manager and see which services are using the most cpu power. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
graphicsxp Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 Hi, Thanks for helping. I've already done that, should have mentionned it. The apps that are really using cpu are the ones I run, such as firefox, photoshop or visual studio. Could it be that Windows server 2008 doesn't handle my cpu very well or the other way around ?
