Why should I be jealous of some boor like Frank who lies about his

intelligence and who can only express himself with third grade clichés?

That might be true in BushLand but over here in the civilized world, the

two largest computer chains will build a computer for you with Vista

(only if you insist), XP or Linux. Both will give you a real copy of the

OS, not some hidden partition or an ad-ware choked "recovery" disc.

Couldn't you guys just start another whole group called

Microsoft.public.windows.vista.flamefrank or

Alias and people like him do not want to do the sensible thing, they are

What do you call people who are here just to push Linux and condemn Vista

with not other purpose than to argue and disrupt. Troll is apt.

I haven't insulted you, yet.

> is not causing the problem.

Give me a break. I've looked at this problem from *all* angles,

and I have tried numerous things. There is a problem with Windows

Explorer... it is that simple.

During 2006, I and others mentioned Explorer's miserable performance

many times. Shortly after RTM last November, when it was crystal clear

the problems had not been fixed, I mostly stopped complaining about it

and moved on... I started using a much better file manager.

Windows Explorer's various performance problems are so widely

known, I can't believe you brush it aside like you do. Your inability

to admit that Vista has some problems, really taints anything you

have to say.... almost to the point of irrelevancy. You really aren't

any different than Alias.... one-sided and blind-sided points of view.

Either open your eyes, or shut your mouth. You're starting to look

really foolish and that's a shame.... I sort of liked you.

> I proly been trouble shooting electronics gear longer than you've been

Being old and experienced doesn't impress me, and it certainly doesn't

make you right. As smart as you claim to be, it might do you some good

to study the difference between subjectivity and objectivity, and learn

that you often fail at applying the latter. Of course, that is often the case

of those who claim superiority just by being older and supposedly more

experienced.... they dropped off objectivity at some exit sign decades ago.

I am certainly no Linux fanatic, and I will give credit to Microsoft

or brag on one of their products when I think they deserve it.

I will also loud them out when they deserve it.

You just seem to take it like some wretched little minion.

Adam does get carried away from time to time, but your continuous

as you claim them to be.

This is what is known as a TROLL.

In Internet terminology, a troll is someone who intentionally posts

derogatory or otherwise inflammatory messages about sensitive topics in an

established online community such as an online discussion forum to bait

users into responding.[1] They may also plant images and data on networks

that others may find disturbing (usually indirectly relating to the

individual in person)[citation needed] in order to cause confrontation.

You and Alias are obviously of the same ilk.

You're a full time idiot Frankie. Everybody you disagree with you drag

out that big rubber stamp you carry around with you and label them a

troll. You just did it again, you being the fool you are. Most of all,

just exactly like Justin used to do, you claim you have a right to be

as nasty and as obnoxious as you want. So again you're just a nut job

that whines and screams about others then turns around and does worse

himself then the funny part, attempts to justify it.

I've deal with wackos like you for decades in countless newsgroups and

forums. Frankly Frankie, you're minor league all the way. Not tripe A

either. You're just a rank, always bungling, always loud, ignorant

faker living a Water Mitty existence here in some vain effort to pump

up you ego to starve off your low self-esteem. Just like Justin used

to do.

In fact everything you do is a mirror image of what Justin used to do.

You desperately try to fake being expert, so did Justin.

You're loud and obnoxious, so was Justin.

You go out of your way to attack people, especially if you think they

use Linux, just like Justin did.

You defend Microsoft blindly, just like Justin did.

You tend to repeat yourself over and over, just like Justin did.

You lie constantly, just like Justin did.

You arrived on scene at about the time Justin left. How revealing.

I've been trying to make Frankie a better troll, but he don't take

kindly to advice. You can sum Frankie up in one sentence. If he

doesn't experience the problem himself his default answer is you must

be a idiot because he don't see the problem so you must being doing

something wrong. That's about the extend of Frankie's expertise and

sadly others too.

Frankie wants to be the gatekeeper to this newsgroup. If you agree to

praise Microsoft at least once a week, and kiss Bill Gates on the ass

if he happens to pass by then Frankie will be your life long friend.

If not, Frankie will label you a Linux troll and go into his you got

to be a idiot routine.

As nuts as it sounds Frankie and other dolts like him really want to

ban open discussion here. In Frankie's little fantasy world he thinks

you need to be a loyal Microsoft fan to be able to post here. That

wacko opinion is shared by other fanboys and some MVP's.

The main value of this newsgroup isn't so much any "help" you may get,

that's sprinkled here and there, rather watching the endless turf

Now THAT is funny!

Considering Frankie is the most biased poster here. Remember Frankie

is engaged in his own Jihad (holy war) to cleanse this newsgroup of

anyone not showing undying allegiance to Microsoft. Need proof?

Frankie's own words repeated:

So how come only the Linux users are "Trolls" then but the Windows users

who do the same remain free from criticism? You're not actually

biased are you? Because if you are then you are doing just that which

you accuse others of, trolling :)

Now, let's see the value of this type of discussion...

The groups are archived, as a newbie I can search the archive to see who

in the groups I should trust to answer my question.

It is no use my asking a Microsoft sycophant about my problem because I

will either get told "It's a user Problem", "It's a driver problem" or

"It's not a problem here and we have xx machines so your Vista can't

have been installed properly". None of these answers solve my problem.

People come here for solutions.

Do some research and you will find that often the solutions come from

people who have had the same or similar problems, and many of them

therefore have some legitimate criticism of the system being discussed.

I've read them and i find no useful facts whatsoever.

Arrogance and ignorance are only a few letters apart.

We're planning on building a high-end test mule in the near future. I'll

see to it that Vista Ultimate is installed in a totally default

manner...no customization, no work arounds. Hopefully this slow file

transfer problem will rear it's ugly head and we can trouble shot it as

a singular problem.

Later.

OK, I ran 2 tests. Copy 2,319 files totaling 6.1 GB. Vista took 15

minutes and change. OS X took 13 minutes and change.

I then copied 15,029 files totaling 7.26 GB. Vista took 20 minutes

and change. OS X took 16 minutes and change.

Once again, OS X was marginally faster. Both varied on the "Time

remaining" calculations, both going up and down during the copy. Vista

always starts really high - like 30 minutes or so - but quickly adjusts

to the (more or less) correct time. OS X starts out pretty accurate

but does jump up and down as the copy progresses.

Again, there is no inherent Vista problem. It is isolated and probably

driver related.

Are all those 900,000 posts from 900,000 unique users? Even if we

assume they are (which is highly unlikely), that's a pretty small

percentage of the total Vista user base.

I have no intention of going on about this, I've stated what I

needed to, as have you.

Take care,
