XP SP2

Today I was installing Windows XP Home on a friends computer at work and had

so many issues with updates that I don't even know where to start.

The biggest of my problems was the inability to download and install SP2.

During the verification of download process it somehow fails. The following

is the error message I got:

"Error Code: 0x8007005

Error_Access_Denied"

I'm not sure what the heck that means. From what I've been hearing I'm not

the only one having problems getting updates from Microsoft.

Other errors I had today include:

"Update: KB901214" - This just failed to download

Install of KB924191 failed.

KB832483 - Failed download security update for Microsoft Data Access

components

If anyone can help me out I'd be greatly appreciated. I've never

encountered these kinds of problems before when re-doing my own home computer

using the same OS.
