DVD burning conflict

Hi,

I used my DAV drive to backup my system. Recently I installed a movie

creation program which includes the gear security utility. Immediately

thereafter, I was no longer able to use my backup program, nor any other as

Drive E is now "inaccessible". I have tried uninstalling the program AND

gear security however even after uninstalling and reinstalling my DVD drive,

I can't use it for backing up. It seems obvious that gear security modified

some setting in Windows, but I have no idea which one, so can't reset it.

How do I fix it? Restore was inadvertently turned off, so that isn't an

option.
