Guest robr Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I did a clean install of Vista Business, it was working fine for a while, then it started hanging about 30 seconds after I logged into the administrator account every single time. So I booted in safe mode and logged into administrator (it worked) and ran MSCONFIG and disabled just about everything I could think of, then rebooted normally and logged back into administrator. It still hung. So I then rolled back to a previously known good config from a couple of weeks prior, but that didn't help. I had an alternate user account I had created and logged into that. It worked!!! No more hangs..... then........ I remote desktopped in from my wife's XP machine. I connected for a couple of minutes, the RDP stopped responding. I went upstairs to my machine and it was hung. I rebooted it, logged back into the second user and now experienced the same behavior as the administrator account. I'm stumped, the only way I can log into Vista now is in safe mode. I'm now back in XP wondering how I can continue to troubleshoot this problem. Thanks for any ideas. Quote
