Guest SG Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Not overblown at all. UAC is the guts to Security in Vista, Turning it off can and WILL cause you trouble at some point. I've already fixed a few machines with it disabled when the user was trying to install software and it would not/did not install properly. You should read more about UAC........... http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista/en/library/00d04415-2b2f-422c-b70e-b18ff918c2811033.mspx?mfr=true -- All the best, SG "DanS" <t.h.i.s.n.t.h.a.t@a.d.e.l.p.h.i.a.n.e.t> wrote in message news:Xns9A27BA193211thisnthatadelphianet@207.46.248.16... > "SG" <sorry@nomail.com> wrote in > news:eDrqy8HWIHA.3940@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl: > >> Well if you are going to disable everything, change everything to look >> and feel like XP, then why the heck have Vista at all? > > What an overblown and exaggerated conclusion to the OP that is. > > Disabling UAC is disabling everything ? > > And changing the start menu to classic menu is changing the look and feel > of everything back to XP ? > > UAC is poorly implemented and the Start Menu gets varied reviews anyway.
