I thought this issue was related to just IE but today I realize, the issue

affects my XP system in general, not just XP. I thought it was only IE

because I surf mostly on the pc.

I have a dual core pc, with 1 gig ram, IE 7, all patches, have and up to

date antivirus and firewall and run XP Pro.

While surfing the net, I find that over time, I can't open a link in a new

tab. I try to open it and nothing happens. No errors whatsoever. When

this first happens, I can get around it by closing one tab and then opening

the one I want. Over time this doesn't work and if I have more then one

copy of IE open, if I close one copy of IE, then I can open another tab.

Eventually, I need to log off the pc to regain full functionality of the pc.

As mentioned, this problem is not isolated to just IE7. I had the problem

right now and thought I would go into event viewer to look at the events.

When I go into control panel, it is blank.

I can't even right click on the desktop, nor does cut/copy and paste work.

The only option I have is a reboot.

Has someone come across this problem before?

Thank you
