1406 error when installing Acrobat 8

I have been trying to install Acrobet 8 with the Creative Suite Premium

suite. Everything installs fine except Acrobat. The current message is

 

 

Product: Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional -- Error 1406.Could not write value

to key \Software\Classes\AcroIEHelper.AcroIEHlprObj\CLSID. System error .

Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support

personnel.

I have been around the block for 4 days with Adobe and no fix. Any suggestions
