I understand the concept of the Virtual Store. One question. If I have an

Excel2000 file in the Virtual Store and go to that file in Explorer, then

click it launching Excel, I get a file not Found message. Yet if I open

Excel and do File Open and navigate to the Virtual Store, the file opens.

What are the attributes of the VS file that prevent clicking it to start

Excel and open the file?

Also, with legacy apps like Excel2000, will changing the Properties to

include Run as Administrator and Run in XPsp2 Compatibility effectively work

or do I really need a .res file as stated here:

""For the purposes of this virtualization, Windows Vista treats a

process as legacy if it's 32-bit (versus 64-bit), is not running with

administrative rights, and does not have a manifest file indicating

that it was written for Windows Vista."

I don't want to disable UAC but I'm a single user, home computer and the UAC

road to easy computing seems to have more disadvantages than advantages for

my situation.
