Hehe, it was not my intent to insult anybody but to give an honest

opinion os where "I" think MS may be making an error. If I am correct,

and of course I may not be, but if I am then this "Could" result in a

lot of business going elsewhere.

Big problem is that NO operating system is perfect, but some are

considerably less costly than others and as more people use Linux the

effective advertising can only get greater. Why pay $300 for less than

perfect when you can get the same for nothing.

There is also the impact from Apple, who will capitalize on perceptions

of Vista, maybe it really is worth buying their more expensive hardware

that a cheaper PC that nags you?

Both of the above could become an "Avalanche" of migration.

Why did you snip it then? Ashamed of yourself at last?

I know what bothers you so much and the reason you are in a constant

hissy fit. If were to you go to an Ubuntu forum to spread the "good

word" about Vista, you will find that *everyone* has already heard of

Vista. Here on Vista General, however, *a lot* of posters frustrated

with the Vista Virus have NOT heard of Ubuntu. You lose right out the

gate which is why you have to resort to lies, profanity and bluster.

Now stick that in your pipe and smoke it, sport. Or, if you prefer,

SNORT it.

Hi Mike. I can't presume to speak for Alias, but I'm not entirely sure

why someone should have an issue with XP. I don't have too many issues

with XP, but I do think that the WPA and WGA/N in it totally sucks and

take issue with that! Do you get it that WPA and WGA/N are forms of DRM?

Charlie, apparently it has stopped a great deal of piracy, but not all of

course. It has made it much harder for the casual copier.

If you were producing software on which depended your livelihood and,

instead of paying you either directly or through stores, the users chose to

make thousands of copies for free distribution, I feel sure that you would

not be well pleased.

It is easy to see why WGA and DRM exist. That the measures have to be so

Draconian is a reflection on the level of the problem.

Like CCTV and speed cameras, it is an unfortunate sign of the times.

Fortunately though, many have nothing to fear from CCTV, speed cameras, WGA

and DRM. They are called 'honest' folk.. :-)

Yes, they are as is CCTV, speed cameras, speed bumps etc. We should all stop

from being 'naughty kids' and maybe there would be no need for these

measures.

The innocent have to creep by CCTV and feel intimidated by it because the

few can't help but try to grab a bargain. We have to watch our speed, making

sure we are not over the limit because some drivers feel that they are above

sticking to the rules, watch our speed in case we have to pay out for

another $300 muffler system.

As long as we keep within the rules, we will not be adversely affected, and

the annoyance is minimal

It's not that hard to telnet into another box, and thereby post with a

different IP. Guess he thinks we are stupid as he is, and don't know about

that, or spoofing IP's. Then again, he MAY be telling the truth, and is too

stupid to know how to do that. I have the spud kf'd but since you quoted it,

I couldn't help myself...:)

Little Girl is a much more experienced Linux user than I am and as been

at it a lot longer. Please do your research before you start making

unfounded accusations.

Have some more kool aid with your brainwashing, Mike. Being honest

doesn't guarantee that you won't be screwed by Big Brother. Explain

being honest to the hundreds of death row prisoners in the USA who did

decades of time to only be proven innocent with DNA tests. Totalitarian

governments are into spying on their citizens and keeping them "honest".

Is that what you want for the "free" world?
