Very slow 'Choose File' dialoge

Hi,

 

When I try to choose a file in 'File Open Dialogue' specially in IE7 or

Firefox, to select a file (i.e. to select an image file to upload), it takes

40-50 seconds to show the list of files in the folder. Even when there are

less than 10 small size files in those folders. It only happens the first

time. Once I selected a file after waiting 40-50 second, it displys the

file open dialogue instantly next time. But If PC goes on standby for a few

hours, it happen again for the first file select. Does any one know why?

 

My system details:

 

Sony Laptop Vaio A-195 Centrino 1.5GHz, 1GB Ram

Win XP Pro SP2 with latest patches.

AVG Free V 7.5 Anti-virus

 

 

There are no Mapped network drives. I also disabled '1394 Connection' in

'Network Connections'
