I am setting up my friend's brand new out of the box Dell computer ..

comes with Vista. I go through the steps required to set up internet

connection, making sure spelling of username and password is correct and

case sensitive. Friend wants MSN as ISP. When I try to get connection,

keep getting Error Code 691.

I can't get past it...and have called MSN techies at least 10 times,

and they say everything is correct and I should be connected. Yeah

right. (I am glad I have XP on my own computer). Can anyone help me

get past this 691 Error code to get connected to the internet?

If MSN is saying that everything is okay on their end, it might be with the

computer.

Try calling the Dell help desk, they should be able to help you.

Next time, try Google... first link returned on "error 691" is:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310431

Not saying that will fix your problem, but it's a place to start...
