Forgot to mention: just did Spybot and defrag, and the HD uses

Vista for defrag - it's under 3% so should be ok.

Have you checked your power management profiles?

Hi Mick,

That info applies to Windows Mail only. So please ignore that info.

Ok,

What type of files are you trying to open that are slow, or is it all

of them?

Thunderbird seems slow when it opens an email or a post in a

newsgroup.

When I click to open an application, sometimes it opens

instantly but often I'll see the Spinning Blue Ring of Despair

for 2 to as much as 30 seconds. Vista virtually always sorts

things out and gets the job done, but patience is mandatory. If

I click and click while the ring is spinning, I might get a

white transluscent screen and a "not responding" on that

application. I'll have to kill it in the Task Manager, and a

minute later it loads properly.

??

Silvy

Silvy,

Is it any particular application that is always hanging on you?

Sometimes when I start getting random delays, clearing Vista's temp

files help. Here's the free program I use that makes it easier for me

to do:

'http://ccleaner.com/' (http://ccleaner.com/)

Do you do regular disk defrags?

Hope this helps some,

Shawn

Hi Ramash.

I understood your post. Just a way of letting you know Outlook was OK with SB
