It's called biased sampling. Go learn some sampling theory.

Just because a lot of people have been conned into buying the Vista

Virus doesn't mean it's a good OS. It just means that MS is good at

conning people like you and Frank, which isn't hard considering your

lack of intelligence and good taste.

Nobody has been conned, and it is a good OS and getting better all of the

Keep telling yourself that those who are conned are the last ones to

know it. Better at what, getting infected with the Storm virus? Making

you call reactivation every time you change hardware? Thinking that

you're a pirate when you reinstall it? Paying over 1000 US Dollars for

Retail Ultimate is getting better? For whom?

How many of these 100 million copies of Vista are actually running?

They might have sold perhaps 20 million shrink-wrap or upgrade

versions.

This leaves 80 million OEM versions, and I would guess that only 40

million are actually in use.

I guess that 20 million users downgraded to XP (legiitimate or pirate)

and the other 20 million replaced it with Linux.

I paid a good R 1950.00 for my Vista Ultimate x64. The ZAR/USD exchange

rate at the time was about R 7.50 to the $, which brings what I paid for

Vista Ultimare x64 to around $260.00

Single coverage , or Family ?

That's only $360 , so it is subsidized , therefore the government collects

"funds" to pay for the rest.

Governments collect funds thru taxes and tariffs and fees.

I'm not the insane troll promoting linux in an MS ng, you are. That

along makes you the real WACKO, mr liar.

Now try and lie your way out of that one you stupid POS!

Frank

Do you have statistics for the storm virus effects? Many were not affected

by it at all.

For some, Vista asks to be re-activated which is not good, but some OPs do

not tell how many times hardware has been changed.

MS do not assume piracy. It is a check only.

People in Europe are paid more, and the cost of living is higher for ALL

things in Europe. Vista is NOT $1000 in North America.

The ONLY people who pay $$$ for Vista are those hobbyists etc who WANT to

upgrade from previous versions. Those who purchase pre-installed systems do

not pay anything close to what you claim, and you have also said that Vista

can be purchased in Spain for a lot less.

DRM, if you didn't know, only affects those who run DRM media on their PCs.

DRM affects very few people in actual fact.

Vista drivers are way more available than they were initially, and video

drivers are getting better all of the time. It is a solid, reliable OS

whether you like the fact or not. You have little argument left that is

relevant.

Being free hasn't helped open source at all. If anything, being free holds

it back because there is not the quality development work done on it. The

people doing major development work within places like IBM, and they charge

for their Linux stuff.

MS and Apple have the best guys in the world working for them. MacOS is the

only viable alternative to Windows, but Apple is held back by cost of

hardware, their own choice.

There is not the hatred among the top guys backing each OS like there is

here. I have told you before that you are singularly the worst ad for Linux.

No company ever made it by insulting prospective customers, yet you do it

daily. If there were more like you, open source may as well give up and go

home.

Maybe you should be more open minded and actually run Vista for a while.

At least one estimate made from counting visits to a large number of

technical and non-technical web sites, estimates the number of systems

USING Linux is about the same as the usage by Vista and MAC combined.

That's not the Linux community's fault. Thats Micro$oft. Whenever a big deal

is made with a company in the linux world, Micro$oft comes in and give their

products away for free. Pushing the lastest version of WinDos crap on them.

All true. One of the major reasons why DOS kicked UNIX ass, was because

DOS was significantly faster.

Unix just blows. Always has, always will.

Linux is just a new version of Unix, and Unix always eats it's own.
