Gee, with stunning numbers like that maybe someday Linux will get above 0%

installed base.

Tee hee indeed.

Uhhh...actually Alias, ATI provides drivers...my notebook sitting on my

desk next to me is running on ATI drivers perfectly fine under Ubuntu.

Both ATI and nVidia drivers run perfectly fine. I have em running side by

side at this moment (Notebook ATI, Desktop nVidia, vendor drivers in each

case).

Dunno, I installed it on a co-worker's machine recently who is very happy

with it. Granted, he could have never installed it or set it up. I did it

for him. Then again, he also thought that having 60 (no, I am not joking

or exaggerating) concurrently running malware and spyware processes under

windows was normal and didn't think anything of it. Reinstalling windows

would have just been as impossible for him.

So now he's got a nicely configured ubuntu system that does everything he

needs it to do and his fairly safeguarded against his clicking on anything

that pops up and hoping it goes away if he does. =)

Giving him Windows again would have been a bad idea as it would take him

less than a week to go catch the first malware.

And trust me, not even UAC could protect him from himself (not to mention

that Vista wouldn't run on a machine with his specs).

Out of curiosity, what *was* your problem actually? I really am interested

in knowing. Mind sharing?

Well... if you're using "denigration" to imply that I'm attacking your

reputation... NOT! Everyone here knows you... your reputation precedes you

on every single one of your posts.

As to denying the importance or validity of your posts... well, heh, heh,

heh... GUILTY!

But, c'mon... "tee hee"? Naw, dude, that's just wrong.
