Looking at my "program files", I see I have 32 bit and 64 bit Java. Is

this proper?

AFAIK there is no problem in having both versions installed.

Please note that the only one that works with IE7 (32-bit) is the x86 version.

See: http://java.sun.com/javase/6/webnotes/install/system-configurations.html

The x64 version will not work with IE7 64-bit.
