I had to do a clean install to Home Premium after I had the Vista Business

installed. The CPU is an HP M7680N (Home Media) and bisiness didn't support

that. I have lost the prgrams that came installed on CPU. Any way to get

them back? I have also lost the "Recovery"

I'm afraid that what you've done, or what help you need, is not at all

clear. Your subject line reads "Vista Upgrade," but the text of the

posts says that you replaced Vista Business with Vista Home Premium,

which is a downgrade.

Your post also says that you performed a clean installation, so I don't

know why you'd expect any other programs to remain after doing so the

whole point of a clean installation is to wipe out everything and then

start over. Reinstall any additional applications from the installation

media (CDs or DVDs) from which you originally installed them.

One additional point, for clarification: programs are not, and cannot

be, installed on a CPU. A CPU is a small (@ 1¼ x 1¼ inches)

semi-conductor chip on your motherboard inside the computer. Any

programs, when installed, would be stored on the computer's hard drive.

And what, precisely, do you me by "I have also lost the 'Rercovery'?"

Are you speaking of the hidden Recovery partition and files that HP

places on the hard drive? Surely you made the Recovery disks that HP

computers prompt you to make the first time you turn them on? If not,

how did you install Vista Home Premium?
