I have gone to Windows Explorer and Folder Options both and checked show

hidden files, but I still can't see hidden files/folders in Windows

Explorer. If I use a third party program like FreeCommander, I can see the

hidden stuff just fine.

Did you also un-check "Hide protected operating system files"?
