You should stop pretending you have "clients". Unless you're an

professionals, not some Mickey Mouse loud mouth with three meaningless

I think your being very disingenuous. I bet it was a used computer

too. A used computer with an operating system they have never seen

before let alone used people would want something that's familiar. If

I got BSD on a computer I would immediately switch it to Linux. This

proves nothing, if

99% of consumer computers came with PcLinux that is what they would

use. Only very very

limited amounts of computers come with any Linux, however I've seen

many people who bought a

new computer with Linux installed and they use it.

No it's not, it's acting like people cannot possibly navigate the

strange dangerous computer world

without the safe place that is know as Windows. It's like saying you

need America Online to make everything easy for you and you cannot

possibly use another internet provider.

I bought a computer with win95 and used it because Windows came pre-

installed. I bought a computer with winme installed and used it

because because Windows cames pre-installed,

I bought a computer with winxp and used it because Windows came pre-

installed.

Ask somebody why they bought a computer they would surely say for

windows.

There is no Coke and Pepsi consumer choice in the computer world. The

closest thing is Mac.

Says the guy who top posts.

So really what is the big deal, she didn't like the results when she

clicked an icon. She felt helpless

and desperate and consulted you. That doesn't mean anybody who uses

the live cd will dislike it

or stop them from actively installing it while getting very competent

help to do it without hosing their windows. I've seen thousands of

people ask how to do it and were very happy with the results that they

did something that they assumed would be more difficult.

I have almost everything I could possibly want in linux, far more than

with windows. For what it doesn't support I am capable of running

windows for those programs. Usually I just use

the handy security update features and update and run the adware and

anti virus programs

then go back to using Linux.

Of course not. How could a Wintard possibly help an intelligent user?

Sure they are. They're what Wintards want and then some because they do

everythign a Wintard would want to do and they're not buggy, full of

security holes, and cluttered up with useless bloat.

People run Windoze because Micro$lop has forced it down their throats

ROTFL!

I guess you're not aware that software for almost all modern Linux

distributions isn't just superior to it's Micro$lop based counterpart,

it's all served up in one centralized repository where it's not only

easier to obtain, but the obtaining is much more secure.

I'd say it's an impossible undertaking, if you have absolutely no clue

what you're talking about yourself.

They're not. They're being insulted because like you they're fact free,

blindly fixated on doing something the way a criminal organization has

coerced them into doing it, and more to the point, openly arrogant about

their willful ignorance and lack of vision.

Besides usenet on the internet Linux is far more supported than

windows IMO.

I asked my mother if she wanted linux installed on her computer after

her using a live pclinx for

a few minutes and she was delighted, had it installed optimized and

the os and packages

updated in 15 minutes in. I showed her wha was what in just a few

moments and she had

Amarok's playlist loaded and was downloading music from p2p using

firefox.

She still uses PcLinux and is just as happy about it as ever.

I agree I made a fresh install of WinXp after previously having the so-

called restore partition

fail to make a resore cd and we bought a retail XP and immediately

after installing it

got bombarded with advertisements with it's resident IM or whatever it

was.

I went from Mepis to PcLinux. Not sure oif you have used the 2007

version but each version keeps getting better. A new version should be

Worst case is a site may require IE but you can get around that. Not

to mention with the Linux software repositories you can automatically

download and install software like firefox and real player right from

your desktop, in moments. And it has MPlayer as a MediaPlayer so

windows

files can be seen in Linux.

I like DeepBurner for windows and the K3b in Linux is fast, does what

it's supposed, moves smoothly from one process to another and just

plain kicks ass.

And it puts all of those 9 mbs to use in an efficient, powerful, cd

burning experience. Yes I said experience.

I assume they gotta retire older versions so they move to a new

version for $$$ People wan't to

see what's new in this version, each new version and it's features

makes some programs bigger

and crappier.

I use outpost free firewall for windows and it has not been updated

for years and is not supported. Zone Alarm when I would use it was

constantly putting out updates and would let blocked applications

access the internet or would break the system sometimes. Why have a

firewall

that is constantly updated, because they are making money from doing

that.

Yea I kept trying to go back to windows and it was just waay to much

BS, when you were happy that though you had the system as stable as it

can get you simply install a program and the

system starts to act 'weird' and you end up re-installing it ten

minutes later.

LIkewise getting a free program and the hidden secret is that it's

free for 7 days whether you

used it for even ten minutes or that it's free because it has spy or

adware with it.

Then you have the windows users comments, one says it's crap one says

it's great, whether

they know what they are talking about or not.

Starting with or eventually using linux will usually break the hi I'm

a chronic noobie. I don't blame them though, windows and the

applications are often far more confusing than it's worth.

Likewise the so-called repair partition is often just sitting there

waiting for you to install linux there. Also you can often install

linux within a windows partition.

Also most users should learn to install windows over and over so they

can learn to create partitions one for Windows and another for their

information. so they don't have to take their computer in and spend

$100.00 to fix what they could have easily done on their own.

> Nobody has to pay anybody when they use linux!

Few distributions you pay for. I don't see myself paying for windows

anytime in the future

but for many linux distributions I would gladly pay, for but it's

already cost-free.

I kicked myself for using windows for soo long. I didn't learn shit

except how to reinstall windows

I have xp on my computer and haven't touched it since I installed it

in January.

Of course they aren't. After nearly 15 yrs linux is yet to get off the

ground. It's fanatic linturds like you who will keep it on the

ground...where it belongs. You're doing a great job.

They're what Wintards want and then some because they do

I love it when linturds like you who drank the lemonade make fools out

of themselves.

Hey RS's needs his hairy arse kissed again and he's calling for you!

Sure it is. One place where you can distribute all 25,000 of the

worthless POS linux apps your little heart desires.

I'd much rather pay for my apps than become a member of your fanatical

cult and drink your lemonade and have to associate with fukkin loser

as*hole linturds like you. Thanks but no thanks.

Obviously the demeanor you present and represent says everything that

needs to be said about linux and why it'll never, ever be for the masses.

Hmm, well I just decided to play a game for a short while and guess

what, Vista is once again de-activated due to "Hardware Changes".

The reason? Sometime during the night it downloaded and installed a

sound card driver update.

This utter nonsense needs to stop...

You have had months to install this miracle OS you keep pushing.

You appear to want to wait for Ubuntu 8.04 or maybe 10.10 sounds better?

Anyway while you wait some of us have installed Ubuntu 7.10 and as a *user*

I can assure you and all the people you advise it is not as good as you say.

Come back when you have actually tried it rather than watching a utube video

and give is an objective opinion.
