I'd like to revert back to XP-style icons when using alt-tab. For

some reason, the Vista thumbnails are much harder for me to use. Any

way to accomplish this? Thanks!

As far as I know, they are enabled as part of the Vista Aero and Basic

themes. The only "official" way to get the older style alt-tab dialogue is

to acticate the Windows Classic Theme. But, that may be overkill, for what

you want.

There is an undocumented and unsupported way toget the old behaviour back,

even on Aero. Note that it is, well, undocumented and unsupported - but hey,

it works :-) Create a DWORD called "AltTabSettings" under

\HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer and set it to value

1. Log out and log back in again. C'est voila.

Overall, the newer look of Alt-tab is not too difficult (IMHO). It's the

stupidly over-hyped WinKey+Tab which I find impossible to use. That

development effort was a useless, empty waste of time.

Hope this helps,

Andrew
