Hi,

I am on windowsxp, using IE version 6 on a compaq laptop.

I have a problem that has always bugged me since I got this machine

and it is getting to be really irritating. The scrollbar on the right

side is unstable as hell. If i am reading something and want to scroll

down and click the down arrow it will close the window or the window

may close and pop back up. Yeh, really irritating.

I can overcome this by making sure that the mouse arrow is absolutely,

absolutely on target with no wiggle room whatsover but if it just

appears that the mouse arrow is over the down arrow on the scroll bar

that is usually not enough. I have worked with lots and lots of

machines and have never had this problem so it is not just a matter of

not being attentive to how the mouse arrow is positioned.

I had the thought of setting my scroll bar size so that it was very

large, hoping that this would also increase the selection area to make

a "good click." Didn't work.

Does anyone know about this problem or have ideas about tricks,

parameters, settings, what have you that help.

Thanks for any comments.
