I have used Linux a number of times. Thousands of others have tried it and

have come to the same conclusion. It just isn't ready for prime time. If

it was, everybody would be getting it. Remember, Linux is free and it still

doesn't warrant installing it for most people. I do have a clue. You're

the one without a clue. Trying to convert people here and day after day,

people tell you to go away. Don't give up your day job.

I disagree.

Many are. The Ubuntu news group is filled with people switching from

Windows and Mac.

> Remember, Linux is free and it still

For most people it does. For those who are gamers or who have to use

Auto Cad or some other Windows only app, it is not. That's the reason

for a dual boot. Windows for specialty apps and games and Ubuntu for

real work and Internet safety.

Ubuntu is not one of my jobs. I don't have a job. I own my own

businesses and haven't worked for someone else since 89. I'm just a

happy Ubuntu user spreading the good news.

Wow... I actually agree with you.

I was never infected by blaster, either. I knew folks who got infected.

But, at that time, I was using a NAT router and Sygate Firewall.

I take your response to mean you don't disagree with any of my observations.

Blaster was easily preventable by users.

There was a patch issued in plenty of time to prevent blaster form

having any effect.

Also a firewall would have prevented Blaster.

Since either of those would have prevented blaster, those computers

affected by blaster had at least two preexisting and easily user

fixable issues.

Those who practiced the most basics of safe computing had no issues.

"...after a few minutes my XP was contaminated too... lol"

Not surprised at all you fail to do even most basic to protect your

computer.

And you claim to know better.

This is evidence you know far less than you claim.

It seems you are lying outright.

Or are you totally unaware of what you are doing?

"rude, name callers and darn right stupid"

You are simply unable to prove any of that, much less all of it.

However that very nearly describes YOU.

You regularly are rude, call names and attack others personally while

ignoring the issues.

You also demonstrate your ability by running an insecure computer

while getting Blaster.

If you knew what you claimed, you would have easily prevented it since

the potential was well known long in advance.

Perhaps that earns you your own name "stupid"

"using lies"

And yet it is you regularly caught making less than truthful

statements to support your blind agenda.

Read your own posts for a change.

You are like an extremely black pot calling the kettle black and for

the most part, you do not even know what the kettle looks like.

Typical fanboy whining it's the user's fault. If Vista was half as

secure as Microsoft pretends and fanboy fools love to preach, there

wouldn't be any need for a patch to begin with. Get back to me after

you find somebody to explain to you what I just said because clearly

on your own you don't have a prayer of getting it.

Frankly [sic] I don't give a sh*t about you mr prius.

You are the one biggest loser in this entire ng.

You prove it each and every day.

However, I do so love seeing you beg like the little fat pig you are and

I also love booting your blowhard big mouth arse all over this ng on a

daily basis.

You are the incarnation of the village idiot!

Really.

Since you've shown no embarrassment about coming into our house, peeing in

didn't suspect you'd have any reticence about pointing out any

misapprehensions in my post.

Just following the concept of "Assent by silence" here.

baster took the world by surprise dumbell....

If MS had predicted such a threat it would have warned people....

no my computer was not begind a nat, and that day I had disabled the

firewall for some reason...

So? I fixed the baster problem in like 5 minutes.. big deal.....

I was running mandrake linux most of the time then anyway.. I booted to XP

just to see what everyone was blabering about....

You disabled the firewall for some reason? How convenient. The Blaster worm

only caught out the unwary and the type of people who disabled firewalls.

Some of my 'silver surfer' clients did better than you, remaining 'Blaster'

free.. :-)

"baster took the world by surprise dumbell"

Only partially, many were prepared because they installed the patch

and/or had a firewall.

"dumbell"

Your name calling seems to be reflective of you since it is you

unaware of the facts.

It seems now you misspell blaster, twice.

"If MS had predicted such a threat it would have warned people"

The patch to protect from EXACTLY that type of threat was released by

Microsoft BEFORE blaster.

About 2 months before IIRC.

The warning was out.

Your computer was attacked because of user error...twice.

No big deal... the good with being knowledgeable is that even if things go

wrong you can fix them fast.

You must know that experimenting is part of learning.. and with all

experimenting you take risks,

and sometimes you do make mistakes... even if XP was got the blaster my pc

was triple boot then.. lol

who cares if my XP OS rebooted once? I fixed it fast and it never happened

again.

Even now from time to time I disable firewalls and antivirus programs when I

want to try something that those 2 apps may effect like for example web

servers. So what?

The blaster worm was a punch in the nose for Microsoft... it did not affect

me at all....

it was the poor people who didnt know what hit them that was the problem..

The same problem is now with vista.. Its not me who has a problem with it...

I must make this clear.

I can manage vista fine and make it work the way I want it to (although it

is slow bloated and dumb)... but to other simple users its a nightmare.

Here's some words, you can have them. You're a crazy fool, a putz and

That's a hoot coming from a liar like you. Right back at you fool,

PROVE you own and run a business. I think you're full of crap. You can

have those words too. Choke of them.

You don't? Yet you have responded to hundreds of my posts. Fancy that.

Some would say you're stalking me Frank. Oh...I'm so scared. I bet

you're short, fat, bald, ugly, have a heart condition, are out of

shape, nearly broke and live in some big cardboard box under some

underpass.
