dear friends

i have exactly the same problem.

i bought my pc with xp home installed and i do not have a cd just the

sticker with the genuine thing key numbers and all.

when i follow the way you describe to add east asian language support it

asks me for the win xp sp2 cd which i do not have. what do i do in this case?

i managed to get from the retailer a recovery disc that says win xp home but

it is not the microsoft cd..its the retailer's. and it does not have the Iang

files if i remeber correctly that are needed for japanese.

i even called microsoft uk for help but they are unable to tell me what to

do and they pointed again towards the retailer.

oh and i have office 2007 as well. no idea what the proofing tools are or

where they are or what i can do with them.

generally...i cannot type japanese , not even view them in some pages..only

squares...i used winn 2000 before and it all worked fine..seems strange that

xp home does not seem to have japanese language in it...am i missing

something important?

thank you...and world peace

:-)
