Vista crashes when I try to personalize desktop

desktop crashes when I right click on the desktop, and choose "change desktop

background". as soon as I go to choose my picture, the window closes on me.

it's starting to happen to other folders too, like my documents for example.

it crashed on me earlier today when I tried to access it. does anyone else

have this problem and is there a solution out there? I am so sick of having

problems with IE7 and Vista, it seems like it won't end. please help!!! I

have Windows Home Premium.
