Posted October 22, 200717 yr I have noticed a bug in Vista Ultimate (not sure about the other versions but I am sure it is there as well) that shows up during FTP file transfers. When I upload a file to my server to replace one that already exists there, or when i download a file from the server to my laptop that will replace same, I always see a 'Confirm File replace' dialog box, which is expected behavior. That box shows up for about half a second, and then the 'Copying...' dialog overlays the confirm dialog box. I only have to click on the confirm dialog to confirm that I want to replace the existing file with the new one. However, that behavior should not be happening quite that way. The 'copying...' dialog should be BEHIND the confirm file replace dialog box. The first time this happened, I did not see the confirm file replace d box and thought that was odd since I was updating a file on my server. Only after I moved the 'copying...' d box did I find the confirm d box. The machine was originally Vista Home Prem, and I upgraded to Ultimate. It is 32 bit as well. Machine is an HP Pavilion laptop, 2 GB mem, 240 GB HD (120 GB x 2) and AMD Turion 64 dual core cpu. Vista is wonderful, and I am enjoying it. However, I use FTP everyday (I am a programmer) and sometimes I am have to transfer files many times a day. In XP SP2 the copying dialog box showed up BEHIND the confirm file replace dialog box. Can we make that happen in Vista, please? Many thanks in advance.
