I have one computer that dual boots into Vista.

The Windows XP side of that computer and every WinXP computer, wireless or

wired, on that network has no trouble receiving streaming internet media

without interruptions.

However on Vista it is rare that a connection can be maintained for more

than ten minutes without an extensive time out for rebuffering. This happens

regardless of the media player (WMP, I tunes, Real Player etc) or the type

of media (audio or video) or the internet source of the streaming media.

In fact at this very minute a WinXP wireless machine is streaming internet

audio without a hitch while I am watching Windows Media Player rebuffer for

the third time in 15 minutes. It has nothing to do with bandwidth as the

problem persists regardless of whether any other computers on the network

are connected to the internet or not.
