slow copy speeds to and from windows 2008 server

Hi,*

i just need a little help im pretty new to server 2008 ive worked with 2003 a little bit but here's the problem:

 

Im getting about 2-5 mb copy speed from my vista/Mac to my windows 2008 server. i have everything in cat6 i have gigabit cards in all of my computers including the server and a gigabit switch next to the server so i would think i would get better copy speeds than just 2-5 mb.

I also have run a speed test in my network and i can get about 400 mb to the server from any one of my computers.

Ive also done these hofix patches/Updates nothing has worked :(

This is a known problem that affects Vista. There is no known fix. The ones you linked didn't do the job.

it also does the same thing on my mac. so its also the win 2008 server to that is having the problem too right?

 

Oh Ok thanks so they are working on one i presume? is there by chance any estimate of when they will come out with a fix?:confused:

 

and 2-5 mb is the max right now also right?.:mad:

It also affects Windows 2008. Funny thing about this bug is it's not in Windows 7. Transfer speeds are fine over the LAN even to Windows 2008 Server.

 

I do know that the severity of it depends on the disk controller. I don't remember off hand which ones had problems.

ok and the mac? its not vista at all.:) so that would be the disk controller right?

Is this also an issue to XP and W2003. I have the same problems especially over our WAN-line to Hongkong.

 

Just moved to 2008 64 Bit File servers and a file copy from these servers are now very slow. 40 MB will take 8 minutes where a file copy from a w2003 server on take 30 sec.
