Really? You said inventory always has a high turnover. Well maybe you

should drop a note to Ford and GM management and tell them. I'm sure

their inventory of vehicles they can't sell that's collection dust

sitting somewhere UNSOLD is really just an illusion.

Oh God, I give up trying to educate you. We're talking a DVD disc! You

have any idea how cheap they are to mass produce? Do you even know how

little room they take up in a warehouse?

Besides, I'm not talking Microsoft's warehouses. There are tens of

thousands of companies that sell Vista. That's just in this country.

Since Vista is sold world wide multiply that number by a considerable

number. What I'm trying to tell you is the sales figures most likely

mean what's sold to wholesale and retail suppliers, much of which of

course isn't sold, we're NOT talking copies sold to customers.

So to keep it simple just so maybe you and fellow fanboy dimwits might

get it, that 60,000,000 figure doesn't mean 60,000,000 users are

currently running Vista. I doubt the number is half that high. I

couldn't care less.

The point is the fanboy crowd ALWAYS accepts as gospel anything

Microsoft claims. In the real world most people aren't that dumb.

Since you do seem to be that dumb, it really is pointless trying to

explain how the world works to you in more detail. So believe what you

want. Far be it from me to burst your illusion of reality.

I see you need some lesions. Please Google "Lean Manufacturing" Maybe you

will learn something.

The fact is you're an idiot. You forget back from the late 60's

through most of the 80's I was an auditor and accountant. I know how

companies distort figures. OK? If you don't want to believe me, just

think back to Enron. People can make a set of numbers look like they

mean anything they want them to. Any reasonably intelligent person can

do it.

You apparently believe this idiot:

Actually for something that is going to get a lot of publicity many

retailers place large initial orders to get quantity discounts if

available, knowing that the stuff should eventually go. In that sense

initial sales can be grossly misleading anyways, since no retailer wants

to send people next door...

It is also possible to rig sales by creating a shortage due to some

mythical supply line problem. Example, you announce the forthcoming

release of "Gizmo" on 4th July. Everybody goes to the store but supplies

are limited so the people that lucked out are even more determined to

find one and go to every store in the city asking for one. Retailers

think there is a huge demand, not realizing it is the same hundred

customers going around 50 stores, so they ALL get on the phone to double

orders. Meanwhile our hundred customers are griping to their friends "I

went to 50 stores today and nobody had a "Gizmo" and the friends ask

"What's a Gizmo then?" and so they all decide they want one too. Word of

mouth advertising is always the best. By 10th July there's big queues

all over, and you have "Sold" millions of the things, the retailers

bought them and unloading them is their problem now.

Wonder how many IPhones Steve Jobs has in his garage :)

I see you need to buy a dictionary. What's a lesions, a new kind of

tropical fruit?

If you want to play more games fine, provide proof, even a shred, that

Microsoft uses the lean manufacturing concept. The reality again is

you're grasping at straws after getting your dumb ass kicked again and

you're desperate to try to safe face. Good luck with that.

Anything other then the official numbers release are just conjecture on your

part and have no bases in fact.

You just make up the numbers as you go. I at least site actual numbers and

don't pull them out of my ass like you.

They pay by usage, that's means installed...on hardware.

Don't talk Frank. You're one of the fanboy Allstars. You, Dennis and

Vista User are so damn dumb about everything, collectively you fools

would have to hire a tutor to understand what 'See Spot run' means.

You all are confirmed idiots that get everything backwards and there

is growing evidence you don't do it deliberately. You fools are just

plain stupid. I should call Jay Leno up and see if he wants to book

you three morons to play a round of Jaywalk Allstars on the Tonight

show. I mean, you three loons are this newsgroup's best kept secret.

That seems unfair. The rest of the country should see the new Three

Stooges.

You simply are incapable of not showing your stupidity on every topic.

Define "installed" so we can get some idea of the depths of your

stupidity on this topic.

What does the boy genius Frank think box makers like Dell do when they

"install" Vista on a new computer?

a. Once the computer is assembled some dope reaches into a big carton

pulling out a Vista package then pulls the little red tape, takes

out the disc and begins to install Vista.

b. Once the computer is assembled some dope chants the Microsoft

loyalty pledge while facing Redmond, then sprinkles fairy dust

over the newly built computer and like magic Vista is installed.

c. Some dope squats in a dark corner and a brand new, but messy

Vista disc pops out his rear end, after it gets cleaned up it

is used to install Vista.

d. The whole process takes under a minute and some master copy of

Vista is simply download off some server.

Something else?

Something else.. like e: buying hardisks with the image already installed.

Why do it yourself when the manufacturers will do it for you?

But then you have such limited experience of computers you probably don't

know this option exists.

What you call facts in this case are also known as puffing.

Puffing is exaggerated or superlative comments or opinions often made

by companies usually the sales division. It is recognized in law as

just an OPINION and not necessarily representing facts.

Example: Sales are lagging, all of a sudden the product now has a new

and improved sticker on. Sales often go up. The product may have had

no material change at all. However Rubes like you will buy it thinking

it is now better.

Real world example I have personal experience with. My first job way

back in the mid 60's was with a major liquor company. They had many

brands you would know. Whine was catching on as a fad to cook with. A

common variety many recipes called for was Sherry. People didn't know

that. So what did our company do? They came up with a new label,

called it 'Cooking Sherry' and sales overnight shot up 20%. The whine

in the bottle was the same old regular Sherry. Duh!

Now PAY ATTENTION! The sales number you cite as "fact" do not say WHO

the sales are to. We do know it is a FACT that Microsoft sells Vista

both in the retail channel and to partners, ie the box makers. If you

knew anything at all about business which you obviously don't, vendors

like BestBuy, Circuit City, Fry's, buy in bulk. It is probably also

true that they get a discount if they buy in larger quanties.

So when Microsoft claims it has sales of 60M copies of Vista that no

doubt includes a sizeable number to vendors like I mentioned and the

sales are to vendors not just in this country, but world wide.

I won't pretend to know how much is in the pipeline or how much is in

warehouses or sitting on store shelves. I'll wager a sizeable amount.

Now when somebody like Steve Ballmer puffs out his chest as say oh, we

sold $60M copies of Vista he's really PUFFING or exaggerating since

these "sales" as yet have not translated into people actually BUYING a

copy of Vista, taking it home, installing it and activating it. Those

figures Microsoft will NEVER tell you. Now you and fellow Rubes have a

better understanding of what that claimed 60M copies "sold" really

means.

If you want to be foolish, go on pretending it means something

different than it really does if it makes you feel better. I'll just

go on laughing how ignorant the typical fanboy actually is.

In case your reading comprehension problem is affecting your brain again you

will notice I have never said how many are in the pipeline or on a shelf or

in use. You keep insisting the 60 Million sold equals the number in use. I

have only pointed out to your little pointy head of yours how many have been

sold and I have enjoyed watching your squirm and stutter trying to make it

into something it isn't. So jump around some more your rants just show how

crazy you really are.

Oh by the way dumb ass "Whine was catching on as a fad to cook with" its

WINE not WHINE. Whine is what you do the most of.

The best you can do is point out a typo. Wow, ain't you smart. Not!

You're just a fanboy and everyone knows fanboys are morons and

willingly accept any slop Microsoft claims as "fact".

I always enjoy watching the fanboy crowd begin with some moronic

claim, like a billion users in China, then keep moving the goal posts

every time somebody points out that isn't right. Now in effect you

agreeing with me. Yet you'll pretend otherwise like you always do.
