I'd like some details on that "truth" since the article gives none. The

word "unsatisfied" can mean many things. 66% are apparently "satisfied,"

which is better than you can say for most Presidents. A lot of people don't

really know what they're doing anyhow. Are they qualified to judge it?

I don't consider Vista light years above XP, but who says that's even

possible? The notion that things can be progressively more complex, yet

simpler for the user seems like a pipe dream. At least Vista hasn't crashed

on me yet. I don't know if that's Vista or my new dual-core machine.

I set Vista to Windows Classic mode favoring performance over the slick

Aero interface. I like the new built-in software like speech recognition,

Media Center, etc.. I'd call Vista a 20% improvement over XP for personal

use.

So.

That survey doesn't encompass the population at large, but "members" of

Changewave Research (whom are compensated for their time).

You exaggerate for unknown reasons nobody ever said MS sold billions of

copies.

MS says they've sold 55 million.

Somebody said "billion(s)" of copies of Vista were in use.

Those two statements are not in conflict when you consider China.

I wouldn't have said it if some bozo didn't use it. It may not have

been plural and only billion, but for sure one of the fanboy morons

recently used the B word in describing how many copies of Vista

Microsoft sold/were being used.

>

Bogus on several grounds. You really want to rehash this, I explained

why that isn't accurate in other threads before.

>Somebody said "billion(s)" of copies of Vista were in use.

>

Since you insist on playing this game let me cite a knowledgeable

source. At least we can hope the CIA is reasonably accurate,

considering the billions of tax dollars they get each year. One public

project they had going for years is something called the CIA Fact

Book. Interesting reading.

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ch.html

Now lets consider why your statement is foolish.

According to the above site, China has a population of 1,321,851,888

according to a July 2007 estimate. If you keep scrolling down you'll

see the estimate for Internet users is 137 million. A small fraction

of the total population. Even being generous and saying twice or three

even four times as many have computers you're still far below the

number you apparently pulled out of thin air. Then we didn't even

consider the number of elderly that in a mostly still poor country

wouldn't even know about computers let alone have one. Ditto for young

children. So your number of a billion Windows users in China is way

off.

Even assuming that number is accurate (I know better) that would mean

what the other guy said is off by 940,000,000.

Is there some reason you spend so many hours looking for links that backup

your anti-Vista propaganda?

Are you writing a novel?

Are you bored?

Are you in jail...but have connections that get you unlimited access to a

computer?

Just say why !!

No need to say you just like smacking fanboi's around...I've read that one.

Really.

Why do you have such a vendetta against Vista?

It's really fascinating.

If you really need to take frustrations out on inanimate objects....

Buy a large Stuffed Rabbit.

Sit the rabbit in the corner, and yell, holler, and rant at it.

When the Stuffed Rabbit just sits there ignoring you.....punch it in the

face !

You still didn't say why you feel a need to expose "the truth" about Vista.

Funny, since Feb it hasn't given me a single issue.

I did have to re-activate changing from RAID 0 to dual boot.

My statement wasn't a rant, just there are other avenues for you to vent

your frustration.

Most people do appreciate the truth. The fact is no fanboy yet has

proved anything I've said wasn't factual. They never will either.

Again you base what you say on YOUR limited experience. That's

foolish. If you lived in the middle of death valley and said oh, I

haven't seen any rain in the last six months. You would be likely

accurate for your little piece of earth but somebody reading what you

said living in the middle of a rain forest is South America would

thing you were nuts since it rains nearly every day where he is.

Bottom line, I'm smart enough to look at the WHOLE picture. The

typical fanboy isn't and tends to jump to conclusions based only on

his limited experience and surroundings.

After I stop laughing, I got to ask, you stupid enough to believe

everything you read? I think you already answered.

You wouldn't know a fact from fiction if a fact jumps up and took a

bite out of your dumb ass.

Sales figures ESPECAILLY when the source is the company providing them

themselves are always highly suspect.

AFAIK Microsoft never releases more useful numbers like how many

customers have activated their copy of Vista. That would at least

indicate somebody actually has a copy of Vista on some PC, installed

it, registered it and activated it.

Gross sales figure can include all kinds of puffing. Does the 60

million include units sold to box makers like Dell and Gateway? Does

it include volume licenses deals, if so how are the figures tweaked?

Does it include what's sitting in warehouses, on shelves at electronic

stores like Fry's, CompuUSA, BestBuy, Circuit City?

The bottom line is we don't know. I do know the more times I reply to

the crap you post the dumber I know you actually are.

And you base what you say on YOUR limited experience...as do all people.

Again, you seem to incorrectly assume you have limitless experience.

Being you are supposedly "retired"....you experience would qualify as

definitely "limited".
