Can not remove Internet Connection Sharing with Windows Mobile Device

Featured Replies

Hello,

I used to share the connection that I received on my laptop's WiFi to

my local lan this allowed me to get a network connection on my

Desktop without installing a wifi card in it. However, I've recently

have not had a need for this setup.

I disabled ICS by deselecting "Allow users to use this connection..."

in the WLAN properites page. I've also removed the static IP from my

Local Lan 1. But now I have a Window's Mobile device (Local Lan 2 --

HTC Mogul) that I use as a modem. However, when I use this device,

the IP address that the laptop pulls from the Mogul is 192.168.0.*,

with a 192.168.0.1 gateway and a Comcast DNS server (the Mobile device

is a Sprint PCS modem). It should be pulling a non-local ip.

I've checked to make sure that there is nothing static set on the

device, but everything is set to use the DHCP service...

I think that my Laptop still has ICS enabled, and is hijacking my DHCP

request to my sprint connection.

Solutions I have tried:

De-checking "Allow users to use this connection"

Disabling the Windows Firewall/Internet Sharing Service

Adding a Static IP and removing it

Release/Renewing IP address while the device is connected.

Reflashing the Device to a factory default

Any ideas?
