Guest Hilarious Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Yes, it's a solution without a corresponding question. My latest installation of Vista would not sleep on exit as the little bubble said it would. The screen would darken for a moment and then pop right back. All looked untoward in the Power Config window so I used Msconfig to knock out the start-up programs, to disable all services and still the machine would refuse to die. (Safe mode id no use as it has no 'sleep' option...) A return to Power Config, resetting of 'require password on wakeup' to 'Yes' allowed me to see that the machine was indeed sleeping but immediately waking up again, now with the login page up. Staying with Power, I tried various options and settled on turning off 'Hybrid sleep' when 'sleep' came to life! Solution: turn off Hybrid sleep option. :-) ...unless it was off in the first place, meaning that you have yet another Vista problem :-( Just for the record, I'm running a home-build with a Core2, 3 GB RAM, a small network and a Nvidia 7900 card.
