If this is a Vista-only issue you may have better luck posting in a Vista-specific

newsgroup. Cross-posting my reply to one for convenience.

 

What have you tried doing to diagnose or work around your symptom?

FWIW I don't have Vista but I would probably try running ProcMon

on both OS. Save both traces and compare them. Where do they differ?
