Vista really doesn't suck. You just don't have a clue on how to use it.

Yes, it is a bit more complicated than DOS, so you just might need an

instructor to help you out.

You will find changing attitudes to Vista, and you will isolate yourself if

you continue to judge Vista as per when it was released..

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. It has worked fine for me

since the day I started using it. Of course, it had the standard bugs and

glitches that come with every operating system, including XP. That's to be

expected.

You stated "I remained silent so I would not hurt his feelings by

confirming this reality". Why did you remain silent? You are entitled to

your opinion and you should have stated it.

Windows Defender found Peergardions, malware (trojans and virus's) that

others did not pick up. BTW defender and IE7 and Windows Media Player 11

also work on XP.

You're statements are utterly false.

That idiot NoStop has been isolated since it was three years old.

Its why it thinks ubroketu is the future.

It (NoStop) also believes ubroketu is better than Vista....which shows years

of isolation leads to lunacy.

Only a hermit would find ubroketu "cost effective".

Sorry, forgive my curiosity. What is ubroketu? I just googled for it and

came up with nothing. Did you just make it up, which is fine?

I did have a flashing exposure to IceBuntu, I believe. Vey funny. There was

a rallying cry on one of the webpages: "Who wants to develop IceBuntu, raise

their hands."

ubroketu....is ubuntu ... the OS for the disenchanted ... or for the

homeless.

It's a sad linux attempt at a usable OS.... teenagers love it like

hiphop...but soon outgrow it.

>It is the responsibility and duty of everyone to help the underprivileged

>and less fortunate among us.

I disagree. It will lead to a disaster. People who cannot help themselves

should not be helped. If they try to do something and need only temporary

help, then help should be provided. Otherwise is it mess, scam and theft.

Most of the charities are the places for stealing.

Jimmy Carter, an ex-president idiot, began a project of habitat for humanity

outreach. According to The New York Times as of last spring he built 100,000

outhouses in Africa. My point is: people who cannot build their own outhouse

do not deserve one. On top of that, I am sure the actual figure is perhaps

close to 1,000, the rest of the money is being stolen here and on the way,

and of course at the construction sites and I bet the longevity of those

outhouses is perhaps 3 months at best.

I began reading this thread thinking that I might need to jump in defending

Vista against slander and defamation. While reading the posts I realized

that I am not really needed. A lot of excellent ideas were expressed all

positive for the most part. The anti-vista forces are in disarray and in

retreat. The sooner we see their demise the better.

Give a man a fish...he will eat for a day.

Teach a Man to fish...he will eat for a lifetime.

Most charities benefit the charity and the organizers.

Last time I read, the head of the Red Cross made 0.6 million a

year......wonder who is being taken care of ?

I. myself, give to individuals....help those who want REAL help....not a

never-ending bad habit.

Sounds like the Republican party line. Help the rich and fsck the rest.

Proof? Or are you talking about the "Faith Based Charities"? With this I'd

agree.

You've got that right! You're not really needed for anything quite frankly.

You know fsck all about computers and even less of economics/politics.

Actually it's the OS for those smart enough to be able to install it,

explore it and clue in to its power. That excludes YOU.

Cheers.

So Vista is for the stupid ?

Then the stupid (or the masses) rule !

Last time I checked, products aren't marketed based on IQ.....its usability!

Its why ubuntu is used by less people than eat monkies !

Not really. Linux's distros are for people who answer yes to these two

questions:

1) is it free?

2) do you hate all things MS?

If yes to both...hey...urbuttoo is for you!

That urbuttoo is a worthless POS toy os is meaningless to those who

answered "yes".

Well, that moronic comment really shows what a total idiot you are. To not

understand such a basic concept as giving help shows you do not deserve to

be treated like a decent human being.

> I began reading this thread thinking that I might need to jump in

LOL!

I have no stupid juvenile agenda either way myself. I just see idiots where

there are idiots and I certainly know more than any person I have seen here

defending Vista with such blind devotion.

Moronic advocates like you are fighting for the anti-vista side!!

Heh. You know, I really do not like using Linux myself. It's really not my

thing.

What really gets to me is total morons like you bleating on about Windows.

It's so embarrassing. YOu have to be a Frank sock-puppet, hey?

ss.

There's going to be a lot of belligerant people on UseNet - that's been a

sad fact of UseNet for years, especially in "religious" newsgroups such as

this one. You'll note those people because they're not interested in

listening so much as having an excuse to rage at people. Please ignore

them: whether they're for or against anything, they're not really

representative samples. =)

It's of the most value all around to voice displeasure about specific and

exact pain points. I recently was advocating a particular change to a

friend, and was told that it important to know that the community cared

about that specific aspect. Thankfully I had good examples/advocacy because

I troll through a variety of forums, most of which are better mannered and

more well formed (since they're not awful UseNet groups)- but my point is:

be specific about your pain points.

What should likely happen, as it happened with XP, is that the general and

specific pain points will be whittled away at over time as Microsoft

releases Service Pack(s), QFEs, and updates, and as other vendors stabilize

or release updates. My chief concern is that when people are *not* specific

about their pain points, that potentially leaves some unknown problem area

out there.

I've helped tons of people indirectly through the valuable and critical data

provided here. I can't stress enough that if you can ignore (or killfile)

the trolls, there's a chance to either work together for positive good or,

failing sustained interest, to establish specific points of Bad that should

be looked at.

What a moronic response.

If you got nothing, than say nothing.

Frank has his opinions, I have mine ... that Vista is quite good is shared

by millions.

Nice to see I "get to you".
