It's been amusing watching Mike digging a hole, MS have actually stated

that the updates would take place even with all the regular settings

off. I don't consider disabling a service like "BITS" an obvious user

option so by default Microsoft will "Ignore" the users choice (That is

the choice the user thinks they made) and download and install software

anyway. Considering that it's perfectly reasonable to have the update

system ask "I need to update myself or you won't get proper updates" one

is forced to wonder where this behavior leads.

looks like there would be some big red truck that would run over you. back

up and hit you again. then your mother could sell you on ebay and make a lot

of money. then the lawyer would not be necessary

My Vista PC runs great but it took a little effort to get used to doing

some things in a different way. But more weak than anything else you

have posted is the assertion that anyone who says something good about

Vista is on the take from Microsoft. Perhaps we are just a lot smarter

Golly gee! You're right! A lawsuit is just what we need. Please don't

waste any more precious time in this newsgroup, but instead go directly

to secure the services of a suitable class action lawyer (preferably one

with a keyboard that doesn't have a defective shift key and who has a

grammar and spelling checker) and explain our quandary here. Please

volunteer on our behalf to spend the next few months closeted with him

day and night to demonstrate the finer points of the complaint. Gently

explain to him that extenuating financial circumstance preclude me from

participating in any retainer financing, but I'm prepared to let him

operate on a contingency basis. Please beep us informed of any progress

in the suit.

I have read this entire thread and it is ironic that there are only a few

Vista bashers ,but they take up most the space. I agree with the fact that,

this is America and if you do not liek the product do not buy it. I have used

Vista ( Home Basic) for 3 months and have not had any issue, that were not

related to the printer, USB Hub or other external devices. I did have some

networking issues, but they were resolved via help. The discussion would not

be a discussion if there was no argument, but some of the things said are

childish and plain stupid. If you do not like VISTA, do not buy it! Im sure I

will get people posting something about how much of a idiot I am.

Thanks

Just another sign of your intelligence or more accurately your lack of

intelligence. Your excuse is the other guy did it so you did too?

So if you have a dog at home and see him drinking from your toilet,

you do too I guess. Good to know. I didn't think you were that stupid,

The actual idiots are fanboys. If they wouldn't get their shorts

bunched in knots every time somebody with a REAL issue comments on all

the frustration Vista has caused them there wouldn't be nearly as much

noise. The irony is much of the noise isn't actually about Vista

directly, but rather the hot headed numbnuts Microsoft apologists and

boot lickers that feel duty bound to defend Vista no matter

what...even after Microsoft admits it needs work. Odd creatures these

fanboys.

Wheelman

You complain a lot about people who disagree with your point of view? Try to

remember that the reason that you are able to post your opinions here is

because Microsoft makes this free newsgroup server available for just that

purpose.

However, everyone else has this same right, even if they do disagree with

you.

The problem that your having is that you seem to think that posting the same

opinion over and over again will strengthen your argument. It won't! You

cannot "shout someone down" when you are posting text messages.

You can whine, like a little kid, when someone disagrees with you or you can

respect their opinion and post a reply that strengthens your argument.

Almost by definition the US legal system is like any other legal system,

a system set up to employ Judges and Lawyers, it's their "Day job" and

the means by which they get to drive Porsches etc...

They are paid by the hour, thus the result of a case is largely

determined by how long one side can "Afford" to keep the case going,

unless or until the court gets fed up with it.

The deciding factor in this case will not be a law suit but the huge

drop in sales Vista will produce as fewer and fewer new customers

purchase it. This will become self evident when, after the next seizure

of pirated software takes place they discover it's all copies of XP Pro

:) (Or W2008 server Just FYI). Trying to persuade Microsoft to change

course, which is IMHO presently a little suicidal, will not be easy, but

they have to stop penalizing legitimate users for buying their systems

and threatening said users via automated software that simply CANNOT be

made foolproof.

Found this in another newsgroup...

A very successful lawyer parked his brand new Porsche Carrera GT in

front of the office, ready to show it off to his colleagues. As he got

out, a truck came along too close to the curb and completely tore off

the driver's door.

Fortunately, a cop in a police car was close enough to see the accident

and pulled up behind the Porsche , his lights flashing. But, before the

cop had a chance to ask any questions, the lawyer started screaming

hysterically about how his Porsche, which he had just picked up the day

before, was now completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter

how hard the body shop tries to make it new again.

After the lawyer finally wound down from his rant, the cop shook his

head in disgust and disbelief. "I can't believe how materialistic you

lawyers are," he said. "You are so focused on your possessions that you

neglect the most important things in life"

"How can you say such a thing?" asked the lawyer.

The cop replied, "Don't you even realize that your left arm is missing?

It got ripped off when the truck hit you!!!"

"OH, MY GOD!" screamed the lawyer.

..

..

..

..

..

..

..

"MY ROLEX!"

Why don't you just go back to xp instead of bitching? Im not a fan of

vista and dont support it but if you are running an new computer then it

shouldnt have too many problems, even then im sure you've all read about

vista being bad news before you bought it. On top of that, the main

problem with vista is it not being compatable with certain programs,

thats not the OS' fault, its cause the maker of the programs are too

lazy to update their product so it will work with vista.

And wheelman, you have absolutly no clue how to use a comma ( , that

thing if you don't know), lol. You should use a space after it before

the next word, and you should not put a space before using it. Are you

in primary school?

And like i said, i don't like vista that much either but this is just

stupid.
