I’m currently in the process of testing a Disaster Recovery Plan. The plan

consists of total loss of hardware, and restoring recent backups to different

hardware. I have a server setup with similar volume info and the same

version and release of server 2003 std. sp1. I receive the following error

message while running NT Backup(Restore Wizard), The backup file contains

unrecognized data and cannot be used. I’m trying to restore a backup from

the Hypothetically (lost server) to the new (New Hardware) Server. I’ve run

the backup on the current server and tried to restore to the new server, but

keep getting the same error message. Can anyone point me in the right

direction? Also, any reference to articles on restoring Windows Server 2003

to different hardware would be appreciated. Also, the current server is a

DC, and DHCP server.
